Invitation for 3rd meeting of Cleaner Air for Southwark's Schools

Join Southwark’s schools to discuss action to improve air quality locally and nationally

Date: 10th October 2018

Time: 6pm - 8pm

Location: Southwark Council, 160 Tooley Street, SE1 2QH London

Southwark Council would like to invite you to join Cleaner Air for Southwark’s Schools network’s next meeting.

Cleaner Air for Southwark’s Schools is an initiative that will bring together schools to share information, ideas and best practice on efforts to tackle air pollution in the borough. Facilitated by the council, the purpose of the network will be to connect and convene schools in the borough, and the meetings will be shaped by the schools themselves.

We would be delighted if you could join us for the third meeting of the network on the 10th October 2018, which will be hosted at Southwark Council’s offices at 160 Tooley Street.

At the meeting, we will hear from Florence Eshalomi, Assembly Member for Lambeth and Southwark since 2016. She will talk about her perspective on clean air, and what work she has been doing both as AM for Southwark and as Deputy Chair of the Transport Committee.

Catherine Maguire from Client Earth will also join the session, to highlight Client Earth’s work with parents around issues related to air quality and to present their forthcoming campaign to improve air quality around schools. Finally, officers from the council will hold a short session on how they can link their school travel plans to air quality measures around schools.

To register for the event, please email Signe Norberg at or and let her know who will be attending the event from your school. If you are unable to attend but would like to receive updates on Cleaner Air in Southwark’s Schools, please contact Signe.

If your school would be interested in presenting at a future meeting, please do let us know.
