As we start a new academic year and look towards the future we are committed to our role of working in partnership with you to restore and rejuvenate the support systems for schools to ensure they meet need. We want to make the most of the opportunities that have arisen over the last year and minimise the negative impacts of the pandemic for the benefit of all children in the borough.
We believe that partnerships are most effective when created as part of an accessible, transparent and equitable system designed by the sector and focused on improving outcomes for all children. We are committed to creating this system, shaped by our shared aims to ensure every child has the best opportunities in life and in collaboration with you as schools. This is an important principle of our universal provision.
School hubs will be a key component in the system-led approach to school improvement. They will support the strengthening of partnerships, create opportunities to make the most of expertise within schools and observe evidence into practice and help to build capacity within the system.
The primary focus of the hubs will be, on collaboration for school improvement, for all schools not just for those experiencing difficulties and to support schools to develop the capacity and expertise to bring about improvement through self- evaluation, targeted improvement plans and a consistently high quality of leadership and teaching.
Hubs will play a role alongside existing project work and the role of the Southwark Education, Learning and Achievement service and in particular the work of the Advisory team. Successful schools will be awarded up to £10,000 to run the hub over the course of a year starting in January 2022.
We would like to invite all schools who meet the criteria to make an application to become a school hub. All the information on how to apply to become a school hub, including the criteria for selection may be found on this website. Please note that you will need to be logged in to your account or will need to register for a free account if you do not already have one, to access the application information.
If you have any questions about the process please contact the team at firstname.lastname@example.org
We would like to wish you good luck in making your applications and we look forward to reading the submissions.
