Aims

* To look at ideas to support inclusion, equality and diversity in a short 60 minute session

Summary

The EYFS seeks to provide equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring that every child is included and supported.

The Equality Act (2010) recognises the need for Early Years practitioners to promote equality of opportunity and make reasonable adjustments to meet the needs of children. Disability, race and religion or belief are all protected characteristics within this Act.

Additionally, under the SEND Code of Practice 0-25 years (2015) and the Children and Families Act (2014) providers have a duty to ensure that they are prepared in advance to include children into their setting with SEND.

This course is mainly aimed at new practitioners or those that need a refresher.
