Session 2: Writing in Play, 27th April
Kym Scott has worked both nationally and internationally consulting and speaking on play and early years. As well as sharing professional knowledge and research, Kym transfers this into practice leaving delegates inspired to action.
During this session Kym will highlight what science tells us about the importance of engagement when it comes to making learning more memorable and how this can be applied to the teaching of writing. We will explore the link between children’s play, the potential writing opportunities it can offer, and how these can feed back into adult led writing experiences.
Session 3: Visit to SJSC Y1 Continuous Provision, 6th May
Come and visit SJSC to see our approach in action. We will talk through our journey, issues we have come up against and how we tackled them, and share practical resources and documents we have found useful along the way.
