Aims

Aims and outcomes

 The course explores links between effective RSE and PSHE & Wellbeing Education and the personal development as well as safeguarding of children and young people in the 21st century.  Themes and content will include:

 

-school’s & Southwark context (data profiles) & links to inclusion & diversity

-engagement practices of school and local community

-the importance of effective planning and assessment in RSE, PSHE & Wellbeing and Drugs Education (including wider curriculum, Science, RE, etc)

-age- and development-appropriate topics, with links to the Science & wider curriculum

-practising new pedagogical skills, including answering children’s questions

-new resources (CWP and others)

-best practice around developing an RSE, PSHE & Wellbeing and/or DATe policy (including wider curriculum, Science, RE, etc)

 

These sessions are designed to ensure that school and curriculum leaders are up to date with guidance and best practice in these subjects. It will provide an opportunity to collaborate, network and share best practice with other local colleagues.  The outcome of the session is for participants to feel more confident about delivering and supporting RSE, PSHE & Wellbeing and Drugs Education in the classroom
